GUIDED BIOFILM THERAPY AVAILABLE IN WINNIPEG

Plaque and other harmful types of bacteria build up over time and slowly affect oral health. This kind of layer, called biofilm, yellows the teeth and has destructive consequences.

Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) is a patient-oriented concept. It is a new, innovative and minimally invasive biofilm management technique that helps remove biofilm gently and efficiently.

Among our many services, including restorative dentistry, children's dentistry and implants, we offer GBT at Grant Dental Centre in Winnipeg. Our dentist, Dr. Ian Grenier and his staff are GBT certified providers.

ABOUT GUIDED BIOFILM THERAPY

Here is how the treatment works:

  1. Before removal, the biofilm is disclosed with a dye solution. The biofilm and early calculus are gently removed with AIRFLOW and PERIOFLOW above and below the gumline.

  2. IF NEEDED, this is followed by cleaning with PIEZON PS NO PAIN piezoceramic instruments.

  3. Guided Biofilm Therapy means that the clinician is guided by the disclosed biofilm during tooth cleaning procedures.

  4. Guided Biofilm Therapy is truly minimally-invasive and reduces the need for hand and ultrasonic scaling. It is safe, effective, and gentle to the teeth, gums, implants, and fillings.
